Something missing in your life?

One of man’s big problems today is that deep down inside of him there’s a terrible emptiness and deep longings— often inexplicable — that have to be satisfied. It’s a feeling that eats away from the inside and demands to be remedied at all cost.  People can deny there’s a God but the fact remains that there’s something missing. That’s why so many people try to escape reality by turning to drugs or other habits, or by blindly accepting various philosophies or teachings that promise to help them realise their potential.

How can the emptiness be filled?

To try to get rid of these empty feelings, some people even go to the extreme of worshipping the devil, committing suicide, letting someone else dominate them — taking the place that God alone should have. Some are even prepared to try and take all that the world can offer them with the unspoken desire of making themselves god. The person, who doesn’t find God outside of himself, will try looking within. But life without God has no meaning; it’s just like a ship without a rudder tossed to and fro by the strong winds on a stormy sea. God knows man through and through. He searches our hearts, and He knows their deep needs. Is he not the Creator? Indeed He is, and He has provided man with the capacity to find Him.

God alone can fill the emptiness

Yes it’s true, God can and wants to fill the emptiness you feel deep down inside! “He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation; that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us” (Acts 17. 26-27). Yes, He’s not far away. Everything round about us proves that He’s here because He’s “the God who made the world and all things in it, since he is Lord of heaven and earth” (Acts 17. 24).

Right now He wants to take care of you and meet your needs. The Lord Jesus said, “Come to me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11. 28-29). God revealed himself through Jesus to man here on earth. He came down to us with a human body: Jesus Christ was manifested in flesh, and lived among us. But despite that, man’s nature proved itself completely rebellious, uncontrolled, undisciplined and unable to put up with the idea of God. The proof: men hated the Lord Jesus without a cause. They plotted against Him and resolved to put Him to death by crucifying Him in order to silence the voice which so clearly described their condition.

More than a remedy for emptiness:

-        eternal life

So, what do you really want?  Do you want God to fill the emptiness you can’t change? If you accept, then you’ll receive eternal life and God will bless you forever. Or do you prefer to remain dissatisfied, constantly trying to fill your life with the vain pleasures of this world? Carry on this road and you’ll end up in hell; far from God and sentenced to eternal damnation. But right now He offers you two alternatives and you have to choose: “God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life” (1 John 5. 11-12). Choose the Son of God and receive eternal life, for God wants all men to be saved. He is ready to clothe everyone who repents with a robe of righteousness. It’s very risky, even dangerous, to put off God’s offer of grace till tomorrow. My dear reader, be assured that God wants you to be happy and that “there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15 v.10).
